Established in 1991 by Gary Clemon and Dale Maki, our company has grown to a full service insurance agency.
Currently, Clemon-Maki Insurance Associates serves the insurance needs of thousands of individuals and families, and the insurance needs of hundreds of business concerns in the Jasper County area.

Who We Are

Gary Clemon
Gary has been a resident and Independent Insurance Agent in Newton for over 30 years. Dale and Gary joined forces to create Clemon-Maki Ins. since 1991. He is an Army veteran of Viet Nam and graduate of the University of Iowa's College of Business. Gary's insurance career began with Travelers Ins. Co. as an underwriter earning him a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) professional designation. Gary continues to serve his community in the following manner: Past President of the Newton Noon Kiwanis and Jasper Co. I Club; he remains an active member of Newton Elks and Moose clubs, American Legion, 40&8, VFW and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Gary and his beautiful wife, Dianne, have three children and five grandchildren.

Dale Maki
As a resident of Newton for over 35 years and a 1970 Graduate of Newton Senior High School, Dale has been an active member of his community. Dale is currently a member of the Rotary Club, Elk Lodge, Izaak Walton League, and the Newton YMCA Community Center. He has also held the position as past President of the Optimist Club and Jasper County Ducks Unlimited. Dale also served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army for 4 years. Dale shares his proudest accomplishments with his wife Shari, his children Kim and Jeff and their two grandchildren, Ben and Luke.
